No Cost Inpatient Treatment Available for Eating Disorders

eating disorder helpIf you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, the Columbia Center for Eating Disorders may be a very useful resource. Inpatient treatment for an eating disorder can be very expensive and insurance often does not cover sufficient treatment. Even though this facility is in NY, people from all over are welcome.

The Columbia Center for Eating Disorders conducts research studies on adolescents and adults with Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Obesity in an effort to better understand these conditions and develop more effective treatments.

Are you an intuitive eater? Take this quiz and find out.

An eating disorder is a deadly disease. Anxiety and depression are often commonly present with an eating disorder. Inpatient treatment is appropriate for someone who is medically or psychiatrically unstable. This may be due to physical symptoms such as low heart rate or dehydration, which can be assessed by a Houston physician. Psychiatric indications include thoughts of suicide or difficulty modifying eating disorder behavior in an unstructured setting. If you suspect that you or someone you know might be suffering from an eating disorder, there is hope and help is available.
