Alex's Focus
In my family, food was both love and something to be wary of. I’ve tried every diet and plan available – hoping to change my relationship with food to something “normal” – even if I didn’t know what normal meant! Over time and through training, I’ve come to see that a healthy relationship with food is possible and that I recognize my emotional needs find ways to meet them, without turning to food as a comfort or an answer. As I saw a positive change in my own life and realized how common and painful emotional eating can be, I became dedicated to helping other people overcome compulsive, emotional, or binge eating from the inside out.

Alex's Other Specialities
Because I myself have experienced and overcome feelings of sadness, anxiety, and uncertainty, I know that you don’t have to continue to feel this way. In therapy, we can begin to work through your negative thoughts and emotions and develop your strengths, resources, and instincts – increasing your confidence and sense of well-being. Sometimes the most important first step is knowing that you are not alone and that someone is here to listen and hear you talk about your experiences.
More About Alex
When we meet I will prioritize ensuring that you feel heard and understood and will strive to demonstrate empathy and caring for your thoughts and feelings. From there, I will collaborate with you to change some of your automatic thoughts and assumptions that may be preventing you from accessing your own intrinsic abilities and strengths. Finally, I will work with you to develop plans of action and the skills you feel you need to make the changes you want to make in your life.

I really enjoyed how my therapist helped me restore fun back into my life. With this, I was able to realize that life is so much more than control and food and being "healthy".
I am able to give myself credit for what I have gone through and realize the root of my eating disorder.
