Luryn's Focus
My work is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and respect. I help people who long to feel connected—to their emotions, their relationships, their sense of purpose—but fear vulnerability because of past hurt or fear of being misunderstood. I work especially well with those navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and relationship conflict.
As the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, I hold a deep appreciation for the complexity of cultural identity. I have a special heart for first- and second-generation immigrants who often carry the unspoken grief and layered expectations of navigating multiple worlds. You deserve a space where you don’t have to explain everything—where your family story and cultural heritage are honored, not questioned.
I also welcome clients who are looking for a faith-sensitive space. Whether your spirituality is a source of strength, confusion, or even pain, I hold room for your questions and your truth. We don’t have to talk about faith, but when we do, I’m open to weaving prayer, Scripture, or spiritual reflection into our work—always at your pace, and never forced.
Luryn's Other Specialities
You’re the expert on your life. My role is to support you—with presence, perspective, and the right tools to help you feel more empowered. I draw from modalities like CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy, always tailoring our work to your needs, values, and voice.
My belief is simple but powerful: two things can be true at once. You can feel overwhelmed and be resilient. You can struggle and still move forward. Healing isn’t linear, and it doesn’t require perfection—only willingness.
Therapy with me is a space where your emotions make sense, your pace is honored, and your pain is never “too much.” Together, we’ll work toward emotional regulation, self-compassion, and stronger, more trusting connections—with others and with yourself.
More About Luryn
I know what it’s like to feel stuck, uncertain, or like your emotions are “too much.” My lived experience helps me meet clients with real compassion—not as someone who has it all figured out, but as someone who deeply gets the messiness of being human.
Outside of therapy, you can usually find me in the kitchen, trying out new recipes or cooking traditional meals to share with loved ones. Cooking is one of the ways I stay grounded and connected to my roots.
