Anxiety can show up in so many ways—constant worry, overthinking, irritability, perfectionism, or even feeling disconnected from yourself or others. Whether it’s a child struggling with fears, a teen overwhelmed by pressure, an adult battling intrusive thoughts, or a couple feeling tension and disconnection, anxiety can deeply impact daily life and relationships.

Rae's Focus

Helping Adults Break Free from Anxiety, Overthinking, and OCD

Anxiety in adulthood often shows up as:

  • Overthinking, racing thoughts, or decision paralysis
  • Obsessive-compulsive tendencies (OCD), like intrusive thoughts or the need for control
  • Panic attacks or physical symptoms like dizziness or heart palpitations
  • Avoiding situations due to fear or overwhelm
  • Feeling emotionally drained, irritable, or disconnected

How I Help:
I use CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to help adults recognize and reframe anxious thoughts, develop emotional flexibility, and create healthier coping strategies. These evidence-based approaches are proven to help reduce symptoms of anxiety, OCD, and overthinking while promoting long-term well-being.

Supporting Mothers with Anxiety, Perfectionism, and Self-Judgment

Many mothers I work with struggle with:

  • Perfectionism and feeling like they have to “do it all”
  • Self-criticism and feelings of not being “good enough”
  • Overwhelm from balancing work, parenting, and personal life
  • Anxiety about their child’s well-being or development
  • Emotional exhaustion, guilt, and difficulty asking for help

How I Help:
I provide a supportive space where mothers can process these challenges, release self-judgment, and find balance. Through self-compassion practices, cognitive restructuring, and mindfulness techniques, I help moms challenge negative thoughts, set realistic expectations, and create a healthier relationship with themselves and their families.

Creating a Safe and Affirming Space for LGBTQ+ Clients

I am deeply committed to providing an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ individuals. Whether navigating anxiety related to identity, societal pressures, or self-acceptance, I help clients build confidence and emotional resilience in a way that honors who they are.

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face it alone. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your relationship, I’m here to help you move from fear and worry to confidence and calm.

Helping Couples Recognize Anxiety in Their Relationship

Anxiety doesn’t just affect individuals—it can impact relationships, leading to:

  • Increased irritability and frequent arguments
  • Avoiding difficult conversations or emotional distance
  • Feeling disconnected or misunderstood
  • Overthinking and replaying past conflicts
  • One partner’s anxiety triggering stress in the other

How I Help:
I work with couples to identify how anxiety plays a role in their relationship. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method techniques, I help couples rebuild communication, strengthen their emotional bond, and develop tools to support each other through stress and uncertainty. Therapy helps partners reconnect and move from tension and avoidance to understanding and closeness.

Rae's Other Specialities

Anxiety in Children: Understanding Their Unique Needs

Children experience anxiety differently than adults. It may show up as:

  • Excessive worry about school, family, or social situations
  • Frequent stomachaches, headaches, or trouble sleeping
  • Avoiding activities or social situations
  • Emotional outbursts, crying spells, or meltdowns
  • Clinginess or fear of separation from parents

How I Help:
Through play therapy and child-centered techniques, I create a safe and interactive space where kids can express their emotions in a way that feels natural to them. By using play, storytelling, and creative activities, I help children understand their fears, develop coping skills, and build confidence. I also work closely with parents, offering guidance on how to support their child’s emotional well-being at home.

Helping Teens Cope with Overthinking, Stress, and Self-Doubt

Anxiety in teens often appears as:

  • Social anxiety or fear of being judged
  • Perfectionism and self-criticism
  • Overwhelm from school pressure or future worries
  • Mood swings, irritability, or unexplained sadness
  • Avoidance of responsibilities or social situations

How I Help:
I create a safe, non-judgmental space where teens can explore their thoughts and emotions. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), I help teens break free from anxious thought patterns, regulate their emotions, and build self-confidence. My goal is to empower them with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges with resilience.
