Jennifer's Focus
As a future therapist, I hope to continue working with children and families to support healthy relational dynamics and emotional development. In the long term, I am also interested in working with youthful offenders and their families, which has increased my desire to gain a strong foundation in trauma-informed care.
Jennifer's Other Specialities
I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University, where I am training in trauma-informed care and the Gottman Method. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University and have a long-term interest in working with youthful offenders and their families, with a focus on how trauma, environment, and relational systems influence behavior and healing.
I strive to provide a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic space that honors client autonomy, where individuals can explore their experiences, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
More About Jennifer
I enjoy exploring new parks and walking trails with my family, going on sushi or coffee dates with my husband, attempting the New York Times crossword puzzle, and reading.
History And Qualifications
Prior to beginning my graduate studies, I did not work in a formal mental health role. Instead, I spent several years as an elementary school teacher, teaching first through third grade. Through that experience, I witnessed a significant need for stronger, more nurturing relationships between school-aged children and their families.
