Nate's Focus
My primary focus is supporting clients who struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and chronic stress—often rooted in past experiences, long-standing survival patterns, or the accumulation of life stressors over time. Many of the people I work with are deeply interested in understanding the “why” behind their symptoms: why their body reacts the way it does, why certain situations feel overwhelming, or why old patterns keep resurfacing even when they’re trying to do things differently.
Clients often come to therapy feeling stuck, depleted, or unsure of how to slow down after years of staying in “go mode.” They may feel suffocated by anxiety or emotional pressure while being expected to remain composed and functional. Together, we take time to pause, check in, and build awareness around emotional responses rather than pushing them aside. I help clients develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen emotional regulation, and improve communication—both with themselves and with others.
My goal is to support clients in feeling more grounded, more confident in setting boundaries, and more connected to themselves. Therapy is not about fixing what’s broken; it’s about understanding what helped you survive and deciding what you want to carry forward.
Nate's Other Specialities
I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to therapy and work with clients navigating challenges related to identity, relationships, and life transitions. I support adolescents, college students, high-achieving adults, and older adults, and my experience across these life stages has shown me how stress and emotional challenges can look different while still sharing common underlying themes.
A key part of my work involves helping clients regulate their nervous system, understand their emotional responses, and develop practical tools they can use outside of sessions. Therapy with me is collaborative and tailored—there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I value honesty and transparency, and I aim to offer genuine, compassionate feedback that encourages growth without judgment. Clients often appreciate knowing that therapy is a space where they can receive direct reflections while still feeling supported and respected.
Humor is also an important part of my work. Healing does not have to feel heavy all the time. When used thoughtfully, humor can lower defenses, build connection, and remind clients that they are human—not broken. Laughter can make difficult conversations feel more approachable and help therapy feel like a space that is both meaningful and manageable.
More About Nate
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy exploring new music and films, fishing, and reading. I value experiences that help me slow down, stay curious, and remain connected—to myself and to the world around me. These interests influence how I show up in the therapy room, reminding me of the importance of balance, presence, and intentional pauses in a fast-paced world.
I know from my own experiences with life and relationships how easy it can feel for things to pile up over time. Through that process, I’ve learned the importance of healthy boundaries, clear communication, and self-awareness—skills that continue to shape both my personal life and my therapeutic work. At the core of what I do is a commitment to helping clients feel seen, hopeful, and understood, and to supporting them as they move out of survival mode and into a more grounded, connected way of living.
