Houston Adult, Couples, and Multicultural Therapist
Life is full of challenges and each one of us faces them at some point. This does not mean that we must go through them all by ourselves. There are times that life throws us in a new direction, opens new opportunities and brings new people into our circle. As we try to handle ourselves and the world around us, sometimes we feel alone and overwhelmed.
Are you ready to embrace the changes around you? Are you sailing comfortably, or do you find yourself struggling to cope with the demands of life? Do you remember who you truly are, or do you need a boost in self-esteem and self-confidence to remind you of the amazing person that you are? Have you lost your motivation or the willpower to change? Is anxiety getting the best of you leaving you tired, depressed, unhappy and frustrated?
Are you connecting with people around you or has it become a challenge to stay connected? Are you happy and satisfied in your relationships, or do you feel lost?
Everyone has a life story and each story is worth exploring. My own story has taken me from a professional world in the medical field, to halfway around the world, dealing with many challenges that life has thrown my way, back to the classroom to pursue further what I am greatly passionate about, “People and their life stories”. My fascination with life itself has helped me understand people more and connect with them in a way that is authentic, genuine and compassionate. My medical background has given me the foundation to embrace human beings. I know when we go through demanding times, our body and mind are affected simultaneously, and both require attention and care.
I am a mind-body trained therapist using evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral and Mindfulness to help people explore their life stories. I use a holistic approach in helping people connect to their bodies, embrace their emotions, become aware of their thoughts, and navigate all three in a direction which is most fulfilling and delightful.
I specialize in working with high functioning professionals who are overwhelmed, exhausted and have lost interest in what they do. I know how it feels to have to deal with anxiety, escalating stress, decision making, and the increasing demands of the workplace.
Having been exposed to different cultures, I have the ability and the enthusiasm to work with people from all walks of life using a multi-cultural perspective. Each one of us is unique and we deserve to have that uniqueness recognized.
Life is full of possibilities we just need to be able to see them. I can help you rewrite your life story, figure out new possibilities, and start dancing to your unique tune in life. Take the first step and start dancing, because you deserve it.
The most important asset we have in our life is our relationship and the most important relationship we have is first with ourselves, and then with others. The way we interact with others is shaped by many different elements, some of which we are aware of, and some are hidden to us. If you find it difficult to stay connected to some people, start and /or maintain a relationship, if you feel you are not seen or heard, if you feel angry, sad, frustrated and confused, you must wonder if this is all there is to it. Together we can explore how you connect with others, what you expect from a relationship and how much you can grow, flourish or simply navigate your connection with another person. It’s time to take care of our most valuable asset now.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and close friends. I enjoy dancing and I find it to be an effective way to express emotions. I love photography and you might find me taking random pictures most likely when people are not paying attention. Nothing says more about your life story than a picture taken when you are not looking. And yes, I love books. Take me to a bookstore and I’ll instantly turn into a child in a candy store.
