A CBT-I group will help you discover the underlying causes of your insomnia without the use of medication.

CBT-I guides patients through a series of adjustments in sleep-related behaviors. Initial sessions in a CBT-I group covers sleep education on healthy sleep patterns with elements that affect normal sleep quality and quantity. Later the focus is on addressing factors that contribute to the continuance of insomnia such as:

  • The harmful thoughts that the client’s bed has become conditioned with wakefulness and worry, which leads to restless sleep.
  • Identifying and rejecting habits that were developed in an effort to improve sleep, but have stopped being effective.
  • Reducing sleep-related worry and other sources of intense stimulation.

The group facilitator identifies the most applicable targets for behavior changes and helps clients overcome walls in making the necessary, and often challenging adjustments in sleep behaviors. This means you can concentrate your energy on the changes that will most likely yield progress in their sleep.

A CBT-I group is hard work and requires your commitment, but it does work. A CBT-I group will help you discover the underlying causes of your insomnia without the use of medication. Cost: The group will meet one hour weekly. The cost will be $385 or $55 per session.
