About Margaret Mayer

She/They

Just as the seasons change, so do our lives, feelings, and experiences. These changes can bring about uncertainty and leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what to do. It takes courage and strength to address this and to prioritize taking care of yourself! As your therapist, I am here to support you in addressing these challenges while making room for beauty, clarity, and joy in your life.
Together we can work to explore particular behaviors, thoughts, patterns, experiences, or relationships that impact how you feel about yourself and how you live your daily life.
I am here to support you in the nuances and assist you in finding clarity so you can be your most full, authentic self.

Margaret's Focus

My focus is to help clients grow and heal by leveraging a holistic approach in our work together. I understand that people are not only impacted by the things they think and feel, but by their experiences, where they live, what systems they interact with, and the relationships they have.
In creating a space that is non-judgmental and person-centered, you can share your unique experiences and stories in our time together. I wholeheartedly believe that each person is worthy of a life of joy and love, and this may look different for different people. I am here to support you in discovering how you want to live and be loved.
I have experience working with individuals and groups from different backgrounds and have worked extensively with LGBTQ+ clients, individuals in life, career, or family transition, and those experiencing grief, loss, anxiety, and depression.

Margaret's Other Specialities

I believe in leading therapy with empathy and compassion for my clients. More deeply, in centering cultural humility and kindness in how I work with all individuals from all backgrounds. Therapy can be transformative and help you unpack all the parts of yourself, including the parts other people may not see or understand about you. I will work with you to create a space for hope and healing, address identity and belonging, face loss and uncertainty, and process those feelings you may be avoiding due to the fear and discomfort they cause.

Together we can explore what it means for you to live an empowered, joyful and more fulfilling life.

As a member of the queer community, I understand the limitation of binary thinking. I have worked for the last seven years with a primary focus in belonging and inclusion, with individuals, groups, and organizations across the United States to dismantle these binaries.
