I am an active listener who creates a safe space for you to process life experiences and grow into the person you hope to be. I will challenge you, but in a way that makes you feel safe. Not all tools or interventions work for everyone, so we will work together to find what is best for you to process, heal, and grow through issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, work-related stress, parenthood challenges, postpartum/pregnancy issues, relationships/marriage issues, life transitions, and more.

Mariela's Focus

I’ve experienced my own trials and tribulations, and at one point was lost and unsure of how to move forward. Therapy was not socially acceptable for me growing up in a Hispanic household. My goal is to break these stigmas within the BIPOC community and normalize the importance of mental health. I would love to hold space for you to move forward and heal.

More About Mariela

I love spending time with my husband and three children. We live on a small ranch so we spend a lot of time outdoors tending to animals and enjoying each other’s company. I also enjoy doing home DIY projects, baking, and curling up with a good book.

History And Qualifications

Mariela graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and is now an LPC- Associate under the supervision of Diana Cabrera-Stewart, LPC-S, CCTP. Mariela obtained a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Northwestern University.
